Pete was born on the family farm on the 37th wedding anniversary of his maternal grandparents, George and Sophia Stewart Bollinger. He attended Tindall school. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, H&S Engineer Co. 1st Marine Division from
1943-1946--mainly in the South Pacific, the last 8 months in China (World War II). He farmed in Rock Island County and from 1954-1957 in South Dakota. When he and his wife, Doris Harroun, returned to Illinois, he was employed by the Illinois
State Highway Dept; later he went to Moline Consumers Co. as a heavy equipment operator at the Cleveland Quarry; he retired in 1986. He was a Bowling Township trustee, former Democratic committeeman, charter member of the Scamper In Liar's Club
and a member of the former Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed his garden, fishing and helping his neighbors. He was Farmer. He was born on 20 April 1918 at Tindall farm, Bowling Township, Rock Island County, Illinois. He was the son of Herman Tindall and Florence Bollinger. Ralph Grant (Pete) Tindall died on 2 January 2001 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island, Illinois, at age 82. He was buried on 5 January 2001 at Preemption Cemetery, Preemption, Illinois.
